Things to Do

There are plenty of recreational opportunities in Montgomery Township. During the Montgomery Rodeo, Daube Farm is transformed into an up-close-and-­personal rodeo arena, giving spectators a view of several cowboy events, including bucking broncos, bull riding, and barrel racing. An annual strawberry festival, hosted by a local Boy Scout troop, has been a community staple for four decades. It celebrates all things strawberry—from ice cream to shortcake.

Residents also gather at Montgomery Cinemas, a six-screen multiplex that launched as an old-fashioned one-screen cinema in the early 1970s and now presents the best in art, foreign, and independent films. 

Veterans Memorial Park is another popular spot. Featuring a playground, pathways, and a picnic/pavilion area, a 9-11 memorial is also housed here alongside an arboretum, which features over 150 species of trees and shrubs—some of which are quite rare—that are native east of the Mississippi.
